Meet the Johns Family and Implant Dentistry Staff

Carrie K.

Office Manager

Carrie joined our team in December 2002. A native of Puyallup, Carrie graduated from Puyallup High School before studying at Pierce College and Western Washington University. The staff of JFD is like a second family to Carrie and she enjoys the many close friendships she has developed with our patients.  Carrie’s role as office manager keeps the administration side of the office running smoothly, but her caring disposition gives her the ability to fill the role as patient liaison.  Her job is to serve and assist our patients.  Carrie shares her home with her beloved long-haired dachshunds Ethyl and Lucy.  She is a sports and music enthusiast.

Melissa R.

Financial Coordinator

Originally from the great state of Texas, she moved to Washington with her family in 2004, when they became stationed at McChord Air Force base. She has two beautiful children whom she adores. Melissa and her long-time boyfriend Richard are the parents of three dachshunds. They love spending quality time together. She graduated from dental assisting school in 2005. She has enjoyed working and helping patients more in an administrative capacity and excels at making patients feel comfortable. Melissa has worked in all aspects of the dental office and is here to help you with scheduling, answer any questions you may have, assist with dental insurance, and loves to make you feel part of our dental family. When she is not in the office she is busy with numerous activities. She is such a joy to have in our office.

Veronica L.

Insurance Coordinator

Veronica joined the JFD team in the fall of 2025, but is not new to dentistry. Veronica has a history in dental administration. She spends her busy days interacting with patients and verifying and pre-authorizing dental insurance.

Veronica was raised in the beautiful PNW and when she is not in the dental practice, you can often find her cheering on her daughters in fast pitch, camping, hiking and reading.  

Tiffany J.

Scheduling Coordinator

Tiffany tried her hand as a sterilization assistant several years ago but became a full-time mom. Eager to re-enter the workforce now that her children are older, she applied as our sterilization assistant and it has been a win/win for both her and our office. Four years later, we transitioned her to the front office where she has become our master scheduler.  She is diligent, professional, and witty! She keeps things light and funny. Lovingly referred to as “Momma-T” she is always willing to lend an ear or make sure everyone has what they need.  

Tiffany spends her outside time with her family. They enjoy sports and movies. Sadly, Tiffany’s number one football team is Green Bay. (We are Hawk fans!) Since she is fabulous at everything else, we let this small mishap slide and she does watch our Seahawks and root for them when they are not playing the Packers.

Lisa B.

Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary

Lisa is also a native of the PNW, and it is where she chose to raise her 3 children and enjoy her loving, extended family.  She has been a registered dental assistant for almost 20 years and achieved her EFDA licensing in 2023.

In her off time, she enjoys decorating, cooking and being a grandma to her 3 little grandchildren.

Deshanel S.

Registered Dental Assistant 

“Day” originally started with Dr Johns when he purchased his initial practice in 2002.  She was part of the transition team for the newly graduated Dr. Johns.  Over the next 18 years, she became Dr Johns right hand assistant and became trained in cosmetics and provisionalizing the mouth.  A couple years of a dental break and Day is back at the practice while attending school to become an EFDA.

In her spare time…actually Day does not have spare time.  She is very active as a minister at her church, has several side businesses, and is a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  

Kassandra S.

Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary

“Kassie” was raised in Puyallup and began her passion and dental career in 2011 as a dental assistant.  In 2020, she graduated as an EFDA and she joined our team in September of 2026.

In her free time she enjoys the best of the northwest, being outdoors, going to local concerts and sporting events.  Her friends, family and beautiful daughter are her top priority.

Shania C.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Shania is our senior registered dental hygienist. Raised in the pacific northwest, she calls Carbonado home. Shania obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene degree from Pierce College.

Shania has a true passion for dentistry and education. She has a knack for connecting with patients and allowing them to be heard.

Shania and her husband enjoy sharing their home with their dog and cat.  In her time away from the office you can catch her traveling, spending time outdoors, gaming or enjoying music.

Jodi L.

Sterilization Assistant

Jodi was transitioning between careers, when office manager Carrie approached her and asked if she ever had an interest in dentistry?  She responded, “Absolutely!”  She applied as our sterilization assistant and it has been a win/win for both her and our office. She is diligent, professional, and kind! She keeps things light and funny. 

Jodi enjoys coaching her daughter’s cheer, and spending quality time with her husband and son.  As a family, they enjoy sports, camping and going on cruises.
